I was just four years old when the legendary Concert for Bangladesh moved the world in 1971. Fourteen years before Live Aid, George Harrison wrote history as the initiator of the first ever benefit concert. The concert collected a lot of millions for the poor and overflowed country. And perhaps even more important: it generated also worldwide awareness concerning the piteous situation in Bangladesh.
Now, almost 40 years later, I am a father myself with two great sons. While most children in Bangladesh have hardly any future perspective my children benefit from all opportunities to develop themselves. This touches me deeply. For this reason I dedicate my time to the projects of 1We - One World Experience in Bangladesh. These projects offer underprivileged people simple tools to empower themselves, like a rickshaw or a slum shop, in order for them to earn their own living. Looking at it in this way, talent can be literally found in the streets.
As a trainer/coach I know exactly what it is to empower people by developing their talents. This is exactly what 1We is doing with its projects, but in this case on the other side of the world. With people who every single day are busy just to survive because they simply never had the chance to develop their talents. The chance 1We is giving these deprived people fascinates me enormously. To this a gladly want to contribute in my own way.
