‘My second car is a rickshaw’

The rickshaw has a remarkable appearance in Bangladesh. The bicycle taxis form an important means of transportation and offer a lot of families a basic income. However for the poorest amongst them the (hire)costs of the bike are too high. Often they are handed over to rent companies which keep them to a suffocating contract, with all the financial consequences. Now you can also become the 'associate' of your own rickshaw! With this you give a whole family the chance to a promising future.

There are two possibilities:

● For the amount of € 275 you donate a brand new rickshaw. After a period of 2 years half of this amount must be repaid with the rickshaw rider becoming the owner of the bicycle cab. This amount will be re-invested into more rickshaws.

● You could also donate any other amount with which you participate in a rickshaw.

Car sticker

The benefactor will receive an official certificate and a car sticker with the text ‘My second car is a Rickshaw’. Moreover as a donator your name will appear on the back of the rickshaw. The rickshaw itself will be painted in the purple/orange colours of 1We. Therewith 1We will be visible in the street scene and a unity will be created amongst the drivers.

The goal of the project is:
● To create employment for the most futureless people.
● To offer extra facilities for the 1We-rickshaw drivers.
● To make education indirectly possible for the children of the families.
