Unique art with a special story

In most developing countries art and culture hardly have any recognition. Despite of the poverty there are however plenty of artists for whom the making of art is the most important part of their life. With the limited resources they have at their disposal, they still follow their heart and their passion. Because art commits and for them is a way of expressing themselves.

With the project ‘1We Art Painters’ 1We - One World Experience wants to give these deprived artists the possibility to develop their talent. With your donation they can buy painting materials, visit an art school or rent a small studio.

For example, with the project we support Jailan Kibe from Kenia, born in the slums of Mathare in Nairobi. Already during his youth he revealed himself as a promising talent. To Jailan his art in the first place is a means of communication to reach the inhabitants of the slums. The social decay in the slums is a source of inspiration for him.

Self-educated artist
In Brazil the project ‘1We Art Painters’ supports Janaina Bruno. Born in one of the slums of Rio the Janeiro, she knows how difficult it is for a Brazilian girl from a poor black family to follow her passion. Still she followed her heart. From the age of thirteen she painted billboards, jeans and tattoos. Unfortunately she didn’t make enough money for an art education. That’s why Janaina went to work as a self-educated artist.

Help artists like Jailan and Janaina to develop their talent and follow their passion. With a small donation you give them a big chance!
