The series ‘Welcome to…’ puts disadvantaged countries and regions in the spotlight in a positive and surprising way. The emphasis is not on poverty, but on the opportunities and possibilities in these areas.
In ‘Welcome to Bangladesh’ there are interviews with among others Muhammed Yunus who, with his microcredit, won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 and with former top model Bibi Russel who as a fashion designer now offers work to more than 35,000 weavers in the rural areas of Bangladesh. Also, we take a look at the project SLOPB in the southern part of the country and talk with founder Motalib Weijters. Before he was adopted he roamed as a street child for two years.
